We are excited to bring to you the ballet concert of: MOSES! come and watch and support our dancers.
The story of Moses can be found in the Bible in the book of Exodus, here's a short synopsis:
Moses’ parents and people are slaves in Egypt and persecuted by Pharaoh. His mother trusts God to protect him, so she places him in a basket in the Nile River to save his life. After the princess and her attendants find him in the river, she claims him as her own. He spends a couple of years with his family before returning to the princess when he is old enough. He grows up in the Pharaoh’s palace as a prince.
As a young man, Moses kills an Egyptian who was beating one of his own people. Pharaoh heard of this and attempted to kill Moses, so he flees to the desert where he joins a desert family and looks after the sheep. Years later, in the wilderness, he sees a burning bush and God speaks to him, commanding him to go and set his people free.
Moses returns to Pharaoh and asks him to set his people free, but Pharaoh refuses. Through God, Moses commands many plagues to convince Pharaoh, and finally, he let the people go. Moses, as their leader, leads them out of Egypt and slavery through the miracle of the parting Red Sea, to a promised land.
